I have really enjoyed English since the start of term 1 as it gives me the potential to enhance my demonstration skills and increase my confidence to speak in front of many people. I used to be very scared of assessments and I still am but in the English assessment I really got a chance to put all my thoughts on that sheet and go for it ! I also got a lot of opportunities to interact with my classmates and participate in class discussions. Personally, English was amazing this year and my teacher [mrs Markham] is absolutely fantastic and I will work hard and try to succeed in English this year.

Maths

I have been really scared of math since I was little and I still am but since the start of term 1 , I have been trying to understand the logic behind every question I’m given and exactly how to find the answer. Personally , I find maths hard but my teacher { Mrs Kahyesh } clears every doubt I have and helps me understand the steps to get to the answer. Math has been challenging for me but I will try my best to overcome my math phobia and keep going. My parents also helped me a lot at home.

History

History has been good for me since the start of term 1 as we learn about our global history including [ empires, the Tollund man , etc] which is actually really interesting as we learn about what took place in our world millions of years ago. The history assessment was really easy as we got enhance our historic thinking skills { skill to think in the past using different sources}. Personally, I loved history and my teacher [ Mr. King ]really supported me and helped me throughout the term.

Geography

Honestly, I really loved geography since the start of term 1 as I got to learn about our world and some famous people known from time. I really got to showcase my understanding of the world and debate and collaborate with my classmates. I got many opportunities to interact and participate in class discussions. Personally, I also found the big write up assessment fun and interesting ; I also got full support from my Teacher [ Mrs Macfarlane] and I hope this journey keeps going like this.

I have enjoyed biology as I got to learn about our human body and how even the smallest units of life help us in many different ways. I also got many opportunities to interact and collaborate in class discussions and we even dissected a chicken wing!!

Chemistry

Chemistry was my favorite out of physics and biology as we did many interesting experiments and got to learn about many different topics which I found really fun. The chemistry assessment was also easy as the teacher [Mr.Hawkes] really helped us understand everything thoroughly.

I don’t really enjoy physics that much but I try to understand all I can and make sure that I complete my work correctly. Honestly , I found physics kind of easy since when we started and the experiments were really fun and interesting.

RWS was interesting as we learned about values of other people and how important it is for us to communicate in a positively effective way and also how it would help us in the real world when we grow up. My teacher [ MR. Erkham ] has also helped us understand how life in the real world works.

This elective has been fantastic as we made a land yacht out of pine wood and we learned about different techniques we use to make different kinds of work manually and while using machines. My teacher[ Mrs. Rahman ] really supported us during the making of our woodwork.

Computational thinking

I have personally really enjoyed computational thinking this term as we learned about different computational thinking skills and their function. We also got to play gimkit in lessons which is a game but we answer questions for energy and it helps us learn in a fun and interactive way. Our teacher[ Mrs. Watson] also supported us when we were struggling in anything at all.

I got selected in the elite gymnastics club after giving two trials and I am personally enjoying it a lot . We get to do many competitions for being in the squad and I am really happy that I got in .

I am in the Gymnastics squad but I also used to do girls open basketball club which I think was fun and also encouraged me to try and get better at basketball. My basketball and gymnastics club days were colliding so I went for something I love a lot: gymnastics.

I made many Beautiful drawings and painting this term and I am really proud of them. I am going to make many enchanting art works during the year as I absolutely love art and I will do everything and put my hundred percent into it to make it beautiful.

I have learnt a lot of different skills during this term including my public speaking skills, cooking, wood crafting, demonstration skills , logically reasoning skills, etc. These skills have come from many different subjects that we learnt before and subjects that have been added to our curriculum and these skills have really helped me throughout the term and I hope we keep learning many new things in the journey ahead of us.

Dubai Run

I completed the 5 km run with my friends and family and I couldn’t believe I pulled it of and next year , I will try the 10 km run and keep it consistent. I am really proud of myself and I will keep working hard to succeed .

Arabic has been good since the start of term 1 as learning Arabic would really help us in UAE as it is the native language. It’s also nice knowing many languages as you can communicate with people who don’t know English easily. My teacher[ Mrs Aisha] also supported me and helped me understand the lesson.

Learning Spanish has been amazing as I already leaned a bit of Spanish in my old school and I loved it which is why I chose Spanish here. I love learning Spanish and I will try my best to become fluent at it. My teacher[ Mrs Brown] also helped me whenever I needed it during the lesson.
