Natural hazards and natural disasters are related but are not the same. A natural hazard is the threat of an event that will likely have a negative impact. A natural disaster is the negative impact following an actual occurrence of natural hazard in the event that it significantly harms a community.

For example, if an earthquake happens in a desert, it may not cause any harm but if it happen under the ocean so it can even cause TSUNAMI. 

A natural hazard is the threat of an event that will most likely cause great damage which can cause huge amounts of casualties, a natural disaster is somewhat the negative result of a natural hazard, when it causes great damage and many casualties.

The purpose of the spinal cord is to send motor commands from the brain to the peripheral body as well as to relay sensory information from the sensory organs to the brain. Spinal cord protection is by bone, meninges, and cerebrospinal fluids.
