Bachata started in the Dominican Republic and was dictated by a man named Rafael, after he passed A lot of people in the Dominican republic tried to push down Bachata music and I got banned off radios and can only be played in bars. This is the reason why bachata was so controversial, another reason why it was so controversial was because of where it came from.
