Mimi's Delivery Service (in my interpretation) tells the story of a young person who is discovering themselves and is still questioning the world around them. Through this, they're learning how to overcome self-doubt and fear of the unknown. Their feelings are reflected in the repetition of the phrase "I can't tell you why" when it comes to explaining their feelings-- they're still figuring things out. When it comes to the overall aesthetic of the video, I think it calls to my identity as a person. Although I'm still figuring things out, spontaneity and fun adventures are my style when it comes to living life. I want to be the kind of teacher that students feel relief when they have to come to class-- the kind of teacher you'd be bummed to see a substitute. I'm sure this seems like a shared sentiment among all aspiring teachers, but I want to reinforce the idea that I want to make learning fun and engaging for students. I want my students to be creative, as many teachers have made learning feel dull. I think the spunky-ness of this song and video echo that sentiment of fun-loving while hitting the notes of self-discovery and overcoming obstacles.
