         <title>All About Kevin Young</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Poet Kevin Young was born on November 8, 1970 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He attended Harvard University and studied with renowned writers Seamus Heaney and Lucie Brock-Broido during his college career. He then received his Masters of Fine Arts from Brown University. Stanford University also awarded Young with the Stegner Fellowship. Some of Young’s famous poetry collections include <em>Brown </em>(2018), <em>Blue Laws: Selected and Uncollected Poems</em>, 1995-2015 (2016),<em> Book of Hours</em> (2014),<em> Dear Darkness: Poems </em>(2008) among others. The Academy of American Poets awarded Young with the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize for his poetry collection <em>Book of Hours </em>in 2015 while also being a finalist for the Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award.<em> </em>Young’s poetry collection <em>Jelly Roll: A Blues </em>(2003)<em> </em>was also a finalist for both the National Book Award and the Los Angeles <em>Times </em>Book Award. Kevin Young “served as the Curator of the  Raymond Danowski Poetry Library” at Emory University in Atlanta. (Kevin Young Poetry) He has also taught poetry as well as writing at many universities such as University of Georgia, Emory University and Indiana University. While at Emory University, he received the award of University Distinguished Professor. In addition to being a poet, Young is also an essayist, editor and professor. He is also the director of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in New York. Young’s famous only non fiction book entitled <em>Bunk: The Rise of Hoaxes, Humbug, Plagiarist, Phonies, Post-Facts and Fake News </em>was in consideration for the National Book Award. In 2016, Young was also inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Currently, Young resides in New Jersey as he is the poetry editor for the <em>New Yorker </em>magazine. Young also leads the <em>New Yorker Poetry Podcast </em>which features guests speakers and discussions on poetry and other readings.</div>]]></description>
