According to published statistics, the most
trusted professions in the U.K. are doctors and teachers. I think that the data
make sense. Being a teacher myself, I don't have an axe to grind, because everybody
trusts in teachers and also in doctors opinion. On the other hand, I am quite
surprised that hairdressers are in the fifth position of the ranking, just
fairly below scientist. Perhaps the fact that the vast majority of people
surveyed were housewives made the results unbiased.

I do agree with the low trusted one´s because
journalists are not impartial. Frequently their points of view depend on the news
agency they work for. A bit higher in the ranking, are bankers and builders; in
reality people are feed up of corruption, and it is common knowledge that these
professionals have stolen a lot of money. If you want my honest opinion, in
Spain they would have been even less scored in the surveys because of this
reason.

I'm going
to play the devil's advocate, Government ministers shouldn´t be the lowest in
the statistics because they are the ones who have to call the big decisions in
the country; possibly people think they usually lie and do not accomplish their
electoral promises.

Professions is a topic to talk about in any country. As we can see in the bar graph next to the to the new, results had not changed so much since 2014. From what I can gather, in general, people do not change their opinion from one year to another. There had been some differences, but, doctors and teachers keep in their position. Being a teacher, I can do my job as I belive it is the better way beacause I do not have an axe to grind. But, are these results real? Or people opinions are based in general conclusion. I mean, we can not know if they say the true or not. Perhaps, they say this because is rigth seen. On the contrary, I am quite surprised that police officers are in the sixth position of the ranking under hairdressers.

Supposing we did this survey in Spain, results would be similar. But if you want my honest opinion, I think that Spain politicians would be less scored that in the UK.

From what I can gather, after reading this article, is that if the most trusted profession in UK are doctors, It could be 'cause health comes first for us. As for the second position, I disagree as some judges have been involved in corruption and prevarication cases. If you ask me about one of the last professions in the statistic, journalists, it is not surprising as the cradle of sensationalism resides in UK. Many of them work in tv programs and sometimes, they seek news without contrast sources of information. The reality is they don't give serious news.

According to the statistics given by the survey, we see how trust in ordinary people has increased in the UK, while trust in public professions has been gradually demolished (with the exception of police officers, public servants on which the 68% of Britons deposit their trust), with government ministers and politicians leading the lowest levels of the list; in addition, the survey states that these ones are closely followed by journalist and bankers.

Quite frankly, the situation is not so different from Spain. Here, politicians, bankers and public servants weren’t the most trusted roles of our country, but in these last years common people have passed from look at then with suspicion to think of them with open discontent. The reality is that they are far more willing to trust in their habitual vendor than in the people who rule the nation.

If you want my honest opinion, mistrust on statesmen is a longtime spanish tendency.

As reported by a recent survey from the Social Research Institute, the most trusted professions in UK are doctors and teachers followed by judges and scientists, while the least trusted would be journalists and estate agents. At the bottom of the list we find government ministers and politicians in general.

Quite frankly, I would say that the situation in Spain is rather similar, although in my opinion the general mistrust is even greater. Journalists or estate agents, for example, always seem to have an axe to grind. However, this happening is not so often in other professions like doctors or teachers that, usually, have only got a real vested interest in providing people a good service. The case of politicians is a tragic issue. A person who is supposed to lead a country, involving therefore millions of lives, should not inspire so much wariness. But the reality is that the continuous political scandals in the last years make hard to trust in this kind of professional, who seldom speaks his mind and is constantly beating about the bush.

THE MOST AND LEAST TRUSTWORTHY PROFESSIONS IN
THE UK AND SPAIN

According to Ipsos MORI survey, doctors are
supposed to be the most trusted professionals. Quite frankly, they are also
well considered in our country, but from what I can gather, more and more
people in Spain bring into question what doctors from traditional medicine
diagnose them.

As far as I am concerned, the internet is
becoming the most trustworthy source of information for many people in Spain,
and surely in the rest of the western world. This happens as people surf the
internet trying only to confirm their opinion about something. When they find
it, they find the truth.

In the other hand, Britons position politicians
as the most trustworthy professions. To my knowledge, a survey in Spain would
conclude the same. Let´s not beat about the bunch, every day we hear news about
politicians that benefit big companies in which they have an axe to grind, the
make lots of promises that they never keep or, even worse, they directly steal
public money.

ETHICS IN PROFESSIONS

How would you rate the honesty and ethical standards of people in different
fields? The reality is that surveys vary depending on the country where they
are made. According to the official statistics in the UK and Spain, health professions
such as nurses and medical doctors are at the top of the list. From what I can
gather, most of my classmates agree. But, let´s not beat about the bush, I
would remove teachers from the top of the list. To my knowledge, most of people
say they work very little and earn a lot. As it happens in all professions,
there are bad apples that give others a bad name, but if you ask me, I would
invite those people to spend a day in my class. I am pretty sure they would
change their mind.

On the other hand, it would be undeniable to consider
politicians at the bottom of the list because of all the cases of corruption
they are involved.

According to the statistics of a current survey by Ipsos MORI, the five most trusted professions in the UK are doctors and teachers, followed by judges, scientists and hairdressers. On the contrary, the least trusted professions are government ministers, journalists and state agents. It is important to mention that the eighty-nine percent of people trust on doctors and, only the twenty-one percent of people trust on politicians to tell the truth.

If you want my honest opinion, I would say that I totally agree with this survey because teachers and doctors are really important to our society nowadays and they need to be in a high position.

As far I’m concerned, Spain shares the same ranking of professions with the UK. Doctors are always in a good place because they could safe our lives in whatever complicated situation. So, people trust on them. However, people do not trust on politicians because they lie on all occasions.

To my knowledge, I think politicians have got a real vested interest in stealing public money to citizens. They do not want to work for the improvement of the country; they only want to increase their patrimony.

From what I could gather, after reading the survey about the most and least trustworthy professions in UK, there aren't actually considerable differences with the plausible results that could be obtained in Spain.

In reality, it seems comprehensible to trust important social roles such as doctors, teachers or judges, though it makes me think that perhaps, this tendency is caused by our own needs to believe in them.

On the other hand, politicians, estate agents and goverment ministers are the worst valued. As far as I'm concerned, but for their illegal and immoral acts, they wouldn't be so badly considered.

Quite frankly, I'd say population find professions of public service more reliable. To my knowledge, these workers don't have an axe to grind. On the contrary, they often have a real vested interest in having a clever carreer, in order to make a name for themselves.

Quite frankly, I think in most of the countryes the statistics are the same, maybe not exactly the same, politicians in last place and doctors or public workers in first place. Maybe this is becouse the "bad" politicians give other politicians which are good a bad fame.

To my knowledge in Spain, most of the people don´t trust in politicians and have more trust in a baker for example.

Most of politicians beat around the bush and try not to answer some questions and I think that makes them less trustworthy becouse they seem like they are not taking their jobs in a serious maner.

In my honest opinion we can´t trusty in anyone unless they show us hat we can do it.

I would like to begin by saying that according the last statistics in the UK some professions continue being trustworhy whereas others have declined drastically. From I can gather, doctors, judges and clergy are the most reliable professions.Futhermore,it's very intriging to find out that reliance in common professions such as hairdresses rises so much.If you want my honest opinion,I'm going to speak my mind, they always have an axe to grind.
Conversely, undoubtedly politicians, state agents and bankers are in the bottom of the graphs.Likewise, journalist have not got a good image within the society at the moment,as a result, they are in the trusted professions.
Quite frankly,as far as I'm concerned the situation in Spain is equivalent than in the UK.Indeed, doctors and teachers are highly considered by citizens as same as judges whereas statemen and journalists aren't truly impartial.I'm going to play devil's advocate, but regarding politiciansand bankers' image in our country is even worstthan in the UK.I totally agree with people them corrupt and medacious.Besides, they have a real vested interest in what they do.

According to the statistics the most trusted professions both in UK and in Spain are similar because in the first place are doctors followed by teachers, judges, scientist, hairdressers professors, etc.
An exception can be judges becuase I think that they aren´t trusted enough by the Spanish public because they sometimes take controversial decisions.
I totally agree with that survey because people trust a lot in doctors and teachers due to the fact that they do an important labour in favour of the society.

On the other hand the least trusted professions are government ministers, journalists, bankers, builders and in the last place policitians.
I´m going to speak my mind, I think that these results are as consequence of the economic crisis and corruption scandals, specially focusing in the politicians. Goverments haven´t managed the current situation in a good way.
For these reasons people don´t trust in these professions.

According to the statistics the most trusted proffesions are doctors , teachers and judges. As far as I'm concerned, these are the most trusted proffesions not only in the UK, but also in Spain, and most of the countries.

Quite frankly, I think that the trust on these proffesions has increased over the years and it is understandable because of the progress in this areas (medicine, education...) . The reality is that as science advance, the trust in the clergy decrease, for example.

On the other hand, politicians and journalists are the least trusted people. From what I can gather, this is very reasonable because it has been displayed that those people have done really bad acts lying and stealing money.

I'm going to speak my mind
, I think that these results are due to the dishonesty of the politicians and the professionalism of the doctors and teachers.

According to the results of a survey that it was done last year by Ipsos MORI, the five most trust occupations are: firstly, doctors (89%), then teachers (86%), judges (80%), scientists (79%), and in the last position, hairdressers (69%). At the end of the list, we can see how lose confidence proffesions which are related with economic or politic activities.
From my point of view, the results of this survey could be very similar in the rest of Europe or even Spain, due to the fact that, in recent years, it has suffered an economic recession and, as a consequence of different economy scandals type, people have sttopped gambling in this proffesions.
Another point is, nowadays, there are more information available and people are more suspicious about people who have a high social position.
To my knowledge, the survey shows a real idea about of what society think in general.

Needless to say that along the history there have always been proffesions in which people trust more than others. In fact, according to the statistics of the survey by Ipsos Mori, this idea is clearly shown. To my knowledge, this tendency is similar in different countries and cultures. According to the article, in Uk people trust in doctors, teachers, judges, scientists and even in hairdressers. On the other hand, most people don't trust in politicians, journalists and bankers. Quite frankly, in Spain there is a similar tendency, despite the huge difference between Englih and Spanish people. If you want my honest opinion, quite frankly, all the professions related with the possibility of stealing money or modifying the information with vested interest are less trusted. To conclude, I'm going to play the devil's advocate telling that I know journalists and politicians that are more loyal and trustworthy than many doctors and teachers, therefore we should analyze each person and ignore prejudices.
