It explains that polystyrene beads are processed using chemicals that are steamed and expand, creating the substance EPS. It gained popularity because it is lightweight; it's 95% air. Some different initiatives has emerged around so many cities in Brazil, with the mission to be a better life expectancy. The results from these initiative across tangible thinks, like supplying the communities with food, hygiene products or clothing, for example, or preparing the people to getting better conditions to get job or awareness about the education system. 

Nowadays, Rio de Janeiro, in feat with Mizuno produce some races in specifics favelas on the city. This races happening after the peace process made for the police. After this base job, the sports, like a race is offered to the comuntie to change the people life style, making their more hopeful about the future. In this case, the sports work together with education area. 

This race and education system work like a program, called “Projeto de Braços Abertos”. It has been to the RJ for 5 years, happening at least 5 different communities. 

As the result this project so many young has been encouraged to practice sports and keep studying. It have taken so many people to the school. In other words, make RJ better and reducing the number of criminals. If you haven’t had social initiatives in favelas, you wouldn’t have gotten a better number in education ranking and criminal statistics.
