During reform women's rights became a major issue due to alcohol. Women realized they to must be equal to change America for the better, so throughout the civil war war they petitioned.This continued for decades eventually leading up to women's suffrage. Susan B. Anthony is most remembered by the stromg roll she played in reform amd the change that will later follow.

Abolitionist new the value of equality and new nothing would change unless they fight for it. With all the abolitionist during this time to stuck out the most Fredrick Douglass and William G. Floyd. they petitioned peacefully without causing harm to them others or property. Civil disobedience was a problem for Fredrick Douglass and he should have served a long sentence for it. Without paying his taxes to a goverment that supports slavery fredrick stuck to his principals and stood up to what he bielieved in.
