• lack of motivation to do homework

Others' perceptions

It is important to give homework to:

• revise the topic at home

• improve self-study skills

Homework tasks should be:

• not complex

• based on real-life situations to avoid cheating

• explained well enough how to do

We can motivate students to do their homework by:

• giving them extra time to do some part of their homework during the lesson

• parents ʼ help

• rewarding & punishment

• motivating

She was really satisfied with my action and gave me compliments not only about me, but also about my institute for teaching us to do this kind of research in teaching.

My lesson plan results:

Actually, 15 students were present, and half of them had done the homework. However, during this activity, all students attended, and even other students who did not memorize words learned all of them with great enjoyment.

To put it plainly, I have curiosity to learn new things and this research improved it significantly. I have learned lots of things by doing this research for about 2 years.

Before, I never thought about exploring deeply. Through exploratory action research, I learned how to solve problems easily by setting questions for myself and trying to find answers to them.

We did research, searching together with our friendly, helpful teachers and groupmates and made poster presentations using all we had learned last year. Not only is this necessary in teaching, but it can also help in our life.

This year, we focused more on the action stage. During our practicum, we felt more of the benefits of the research and understood how a successful teacher should be. Now we can teach students using new interactive methods to encourage them to learn more.

Admittedly, they are encouraged to learn, they can work on themselves at home and feel more responsible for their homework that I have chosen based on my research findings. By only focusing on doing homework, we can develop students' self-study skills.

By the way, I published my first article based on teaching and methodology due to our teachers' help and this research. Thank you!

There are some reasons why I decided to choose this topic. During teaching, most of my students used to not do their homework. Then, I found it more difficult and the main problem. Moreover, I needed to prove the benefits of doing homework for self-study and research in order to remove any challenges of doing homework for students and teachers.
