It's kind of ironic that Daisy and Gatsby who were having an affair kills the woman Tom was having an affair with which surprised me. Also this quote shows even more signs of Gatsby's delusions that him and Daisy are going to be together showing Nick he is still devoted to her and willing to take the murder charge for her.
