The Government needed a large number of volunteers to fill in jobs during the war. Women were their number one helper, since most men had gone to war fighting. To encourage volunteering they made posters, powerful speeches and told people wages would be raised if they joined.

Every job has risks, just like the ones that the women worked during WWII. Some risks were more suvere than others. An example of a more severe risk was the munition jobs during WWII. The chemicals used in munitions made peoples skin and hair turn yellow, from the dangerous amount of contact with the workers. Another major risk that effected many women in WWII, was that these women had little to no experience whilst working jobs with heavy machinery, chemicals, etc.
