Over the past 29 years, Poland has come a long way from an authoritarian state with a planned economy to a developed democratic state with a capitalist and business friendly economy. It has the sixth-largest economy in the EU and during the crisis 2008-09, Poland was the only EU country who avoid a recession.
All this wouldn't be possible without participation in various international economic organisations. Poland is a member of:
EU (European Union) - Poland has been a member state since 1 May 2004, but first agreements about special terms of trades and economic cooperation had been signed in 1989. Nowadays, Poland is active member of the organisation. It has 51 seats in European parliament (out of 751). Moreover, Warsaw is the biggest economical and transport center in East part of the EU.
Visegrad Group is the economical, cultural and political alliance between Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. These 4 countries have very strong economic cooperation. Poland is de facto leader of the alliance, since the economy, political authority and army are quite large compared to other members of the organisation.
At the same time, Poland is not part of the eurozone. It is still keeping own currency (polish zloty).

WTO (World Trade Organisation) - Poland was a member of the GATT since 1967 (the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade is the predecessor of the WTO). Since 1995. Poland is a full-time member of the WTO.
OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development) - Poland is a member since 1996. The country has permanent delegation to the OECD, composed of an ambassador and diplomats.

East African community (March 2016) - free trade area between Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda; Different tariffs are applied for raw materials (0%), intermediate products (10%) and finished goods (25%), the latter percentage is fixed as the maximum. This represents a significant decrease from what was previously the maximum in Kenya (35%), Tanzania (40%) and Uganda (15%), However, this customs union is not yet fully implemented, because there is a significant list of exclusions to the Common External Tariff and tariff-free movement of goods and services. Free trade is a low level of economic integration, affects only on tariffs between members. The general goal of free trade agreements is to develop economies of scale and comparative advantages, which promotes economic efficiency. In my case exchange goes within the agricultural sector mostly since all of the members are representatives of developing countries. And the reduction of tariffs allows easier trade between countries, develops a competitive advantage, raising the supply on the market and the level of satisfaction of consumers.

Commonwealth of nations - focuses on non-governmental relations between member states.
TradeMark East Africa - aid for a trade organization

Monetary union, agreement between two or more states creating a single currency area. A monetary involves the irrevocable fixation of the exchange rates of the national currencies existing before the formation of a monetary union.

Economic and Monetary Union (EMU)

Economic and monetary union (EMU) is the result of progressive economic integration in the EU. It is an expansion of the EU single market, with common product regulations and free movement of goods, capital, labour and services. A common currency, the euro, has been introduced in the eurozone, which currently comprises 19 EU Member States. All 28 EU Member States — with the exception of the UK and Denmark — must adopt the euro after a minimum of two years’ participation in ERM II and fulfilment of the convergence criteria. A single monetary policy is set by the European Central Bank (ECB) and is complemented by harmonised fiscal and coordinated economic policies. Within EMU there is no single institution responsible for economic policy. Instead, responsibility is divided between Member States and various EU institutions.

Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)

14 December 1960; effective - 30 September 1961
to promote economic cooperation and development
members - (34) Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, NZ, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK, US
special member - (1) EC

World Trade Organization (WTO)

succeeded General Agreement on Tariff and Trade (GATT)
15 April 1994; effective - 1 January 1995
to provide a forum to resolve trade conflicts between members and to carry on negotiations with the goal of further lowering and/or eliminating tariffs and other trade barriers

Group of 7 (G-7)

membership is the same as the Big Seven
22 September 1985
to facilitate economic cooperation among the seven major noncommunist economic powers
members - (8) Group of 5 (France, Germany, Japan, UK, US) plus Canada, EU, and Italy

Big Seven

membership is the same as the Group of 7
1975
to discuss and coordinate major economic policies
members - (7) Big Six (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, UK) plus the US
