Joe is 14 years old and he is from Mexico. He moved to U.S when he was in second grade, and now he goes in 8 grade. Joes weakness is boys and he has thin and puny lips.

 

Jamal is black. He loves pups, and he is Joes best friend, but Joe wants to be more than just friends.

 

Joes mom is sweet and helpful, and she thinks it’s okay to be gay.

 

Joes dad dosen´t like black people and gays. He is very strict.

 

Mr. Bonita is a science teacher. He cares about his students. Mr. Bonita is gay.

 

We know a lot about Joe, but not much about the other characters. We know how joe feels, and what gender he likes. We know that Joe has feelings for Jamal, but he is afraid to show it. Joe cares a lot about what other people think, and he likes Jamal, but Jamal is confused about Joe. We don´t know much about what gender Jamal likes.

 

Joe and his family can relate to each other and they feel okay about each other. It’s a normal family. Jamal and Joe are best friends. 

 

Yes. Joe is very confused about being gay in the beginning, because he was afraid of being different. But after Mr. Bonita told him that it was okay to be gay respected he that he was gay.
