I choose the book Our diversity makes us stronger by Elizabeth Cole because it's important for students to learn about diversity. In the elementary school I work at the second graders are learning about diversity and why it's important. This book shows so many ways of diversity including kids who wear braces, people who have accents, people born in different parts of the world etc. I think this book is a great start to introducing students to a unit of diversity and why it's important.

How there is many different languages spoken. How everybody's families are different. It even speaks about how there is diversity in classrooms. It talks about how there's diversity with brains. Overall the book gives many examples for children to understand what diversity is.

The main characters name is Nick and he is worried that he will not get accepted by friends because he got new reading glasses. Throughout the book he started meeting more of his peers who all had different things that made them unique. The book teaches students how diversity is a good thing and it is everywhere. The book ends with an explanation that says " all differences are welcomed in this world".

This website is an international food puzzle game. This is great for a second grade class as a whole or individually to play because it's interactive and they will be more focused. Most of the students I work with have learned about different games and food there are around the world and how it's different or similar to America. So I think this website would be a great way to learn more about diversity and if they can compare anything to their lives.
