According to the Amsterdam City Council, as many as 150,000 inhabitants are expected to migrate into the city between now and 2040. Currently, Amsterdam is figuring out ways to utilize their space to fit more buildings and homes. A very famous food in Amsterdam in known as Haring. This is raw herring with chopped up onions gherkins(cucumber). Another famous food is Stroopwafel. This is a waffle made from baked butter and then sliced horizontally. The two layers of the waffle are filled with a syrup called stroop. You can buy these in any regular food market in Amsterdam. Another favorite is the kroket. I have always wanted to take a trip here, but I never really did the research on the culture and what activities to do here. I love how Amsterdam really take pride in their arts program unlike a lot of the world that mostly focuses of sports and academics. I love all types of arts so that would be something that I would love to see while there. While on the boat, you are given a tour, some facts, and you get to see Amsterdam. Lastly, another popular activity in Amsterdam is to see Vincent Van Gogh's paintings. Today the Dutch Royal House uses it but it is open to the public most of the year. Lastly, another great place to visit while in Amsterdam is Rijksmuseum.
