         <description><![CDATA[<p>Did you know the local government of Florence was housed in the Old Palace, otherwise known as the Palazzo Vecchio? The Palazzo was built as the private residence of the Medici family in the 1440s until their full move to the Palazzo in 1540. Seeing it in real life made me realize that the Palazzo Vecchio was the most characteristic building on its square!</p>]]></description>
