Antagonist/Conflict

The Antagonist is Amadou Bonamy. He was the reason Liz died. Amadou hit Liz with the taxi cab he drives. This creates a conflict because Liz is depressed about how she is dead because she feels that she had so much more of a life to live. She wanted to do so many more things in life while growing up. Like, go to prom, get her drivers license, finally turn sixteen. Now she can't do those things because she is in Elsewhere. She becomes very upset and obsessed with her loved ones back on Earth.
"It isn't right to hit people with dirty old cabs and then leave them to die in the street."

Leader

Liz is a leader at her avocation (job). She works for the Division of Domestic Animals, where she finds homes for dogs, cats etc. who have recently passed away. This avocation suits her because she loves animals and she knows how to speak canine naturally.
"It had been just over one month since Liz began her avocation. In that time, she had become known as one of the best counselors at the Division of Domestic Animals."
"She excelled at her work and she loved doing it."
Liz is a really good leader because she matches a person with the animal they're supposed to be with. She leads the people in the right direction to what they are really looking for. People follow what she says and her advice because she is an expert at what she does. That is why she is a very strong leader.

Book Review

Elsewhere is the kind of book that you can't help but to keep turning the page. I really enjoyed the book. You get connected to the characters and their relationships. The protagonist (Liz) in the beginning was pushing everybody out of her life but she grew and matured even if she was getting younger. I wasn't a big fan of Liz in the beginning but by the end she was one of my favorite characters in the book. It was such a cool book because it had a different way of looking at what it's like once you die. It made me think and wonder about it would be like if that was what really happened to you once you died. I loved how new people came into the story and it really threw off what you thought was going to happen. The ending of this book was one that left you to wonder. It left you to wonder what happens to Liz, next. I don't usually like that in books but I think it worked really well with this one. Elsewhere was a real amazing book that stays with you even after you turn the last page.
