         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Adaptability can surface at a young age or later in life.</li><li>Those who are more resilient earlier in their childhood tend to be more successful as they get older.</li><li>Resilience is defined as "the capacity to adapt under difficult circumstances".</li><li>We are not born with resilience; our ability is impacted by our interactions with the environment even before we are born, as well as our cognitive development and motivation.</li><li>We possess "protective systems" that help us through development and difficulties that arise in life.</li><li>Parents, teachers, and caregivers play an important role in helping children develop their potential for resilience.</li></ul><div><br>Steiner, A.          <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Early childhood is an important time to promote resilience.</li><li>High risk children include those who have a family history of mental illness, social disadvantages, adoption, or poverty.</li><li>Early success in school is related to a higher chance of resilience in at-risk children.</li><li>Intervention programs that focus on building competence in children and families are key to the development of resilience.</li><li>During early childhood, it is critical for children to receive appropriate nutrition and learning opportunities and to have positive interactions with loving caregivers.&nbsp; When children are in this environment, they are more likely to handle adverse situations with resilience.</li></ul><div>Masten, A., Gewirtz, A., &amp; Sapienza, J.
