A: I started my "official" carrier at the end of the decade 1960, playing with groups like "Steel Mill" and "Dr. Zoom & the Sonic Boom". But I have always sung. I knew that I wanted to dedicate myself to music when I saw Elvis Presley in "the Ed Sullivan Show".
Q: What was your first instrument?
A: Mmm... It was a flute in the school. But, I bought my first guitar at the age of 13, for 18$, and at the age of 16, my mom bought me, with a loan, a Kent guitar for 60$.
Q: And, how was your first album?
A: Oh! It was marvelous! In 1972 I sign a contract with "Columbia records" and with "The E Street Band" (group with which I will work many times after) I published it.
Q: What about the lyrics of your songs? What are they talking about?
A: Usually, I talk about my life, is like an autobiography. I reflect my feelings in Asbury Park. I also talk about characters who doesn't exist and who have to face challenges.
Q: You have been criticized with your songs "Born in the U.S.A." and "American Skin", why?
A: Oh yes... In my songs, I talk about economical, social, and political themes. I comment the exterior politics like the invasion of Irak war. So, when you say your opinion, there will be people who will don't be proud agree with you. That people is who criticized me.
