What have you enjoyed from today's GRAIN session and why?

communication is very important, without it you really cannot achieve much just by going with the flow

A challenge would be not being able to communicate with other fellow SCs that well but after this session I will try to be more open with them

One challenge I faced was how to open up n bond with other people from other school.

I learned that teamwork and communication are extremely important!

I’m not super experienced with my role in leadership yet so that’s an issue im working on to learn and grow from it.

I enjoyed the different views of the different student leaders and I enjoyed learning about how their schools do things differently than ours.

A challenge that I have faced would not being able to speak out cause there are too many voices at one time

Knowing new people and finding out more about each school

I learnt how to communicate with other people from other schools and know more about their school. I also learnt the importance of teamwork and how to solve problems by fimisng another solution

one challenge is not being able to communicate well with my team as many people have different ideas but i am sure with more discussion and listening out to others opinions we can work well together.

Communication is important for leaders to work together with other leaders and without it, working together will be very uncoordinated

Miscommunication. It will allow us to learn how to bond with each other to communicate well

I enjoyed working with my group members as we bonded over the activities

I learnt that even thought challenged may be faced during the process of leadership, they are inevitable and instead of shunning them we should embrace them do that we can learn and grow from the experience to become better leaders.

1 challenge I face in my leadership journey is miscommunication and thus weakening of bonds due to the lack of cooperation and communication.

I have enjoyed the additional leadership experience and bonding with people from other schools.

I have learnt about other people’s leadership experiences, and how to work under pressure to obtain a good result. I have also learnt how to bette interact with people whom I don’t know, so that we can work together better and function well as a group.

One challenge I face currently is miscommunication when working together as a group. This happens usually when group members don’t follow up with their work and check in with the other members on their progress in a certain area. I can turn this into an opportunity to take the lead and establish good communication at ALL times to ensure that ALL of us are aware of the group progress.

I have enjoyed the numerous group activities organised by the GRAIN ICs, because they applied to our everyday lives and helped strengthen skills such as teamwork and working under pressure, while at the same time not making them boring but instead always ensuring that we have fun. :)

I have learnt to work under limiting conditions. It is always good to to change the ways we approach a situation by adapting

One challenge I face currently is that sometimes everyone wants to be heard. However there is an organised way to do so.

I enjoyed the different activities as it allowed me to communicate with the other leaders.

I learnt that clear communication is very important in a team so it can function effectively

During planning, we have to discuss with the various stakeholders and clarify with them the logistics such that there is no ambiguity which may lead to conflict

Communication and inclusivity is important in order for problems to not occur.

Miscommunication is a big problem during school events. I feel that we should have a clear chain of communication so that people will not be confused about the different information they receive.

I enjoyed making friends with other people from other schools, exchanging our experiences being student leaders.

I learnt about teamwork, communication, paying attention to the smaller details.

One challenge I face in school currently is our activity; in terms of communication: respond to/help each other more actively; in terms of work: be more passionate and proactive about our work we have to accomplish.

I have learnt the importance of communication and trust. Especially in Hula Hoop activity, where we were struggling with bringing the hoop down. It requires trust so we can achieve this together.

One weakness is my commitment to my team and my responsibility. I wish to take better charge of all my tasks and people so to lead them successfully in all the projects

GRAIN was very enjoyable as I learnt about different lead board structures, I heard many stories from people about their lives and interests, and we managed to pull off a good skit. That to me is very fulfilling.

I have learnt that bonding between seniors and juniors is something very precious and valuable, as many schools have segregations across batches and we should treasure these bonds in RI

In school, we might face problems of getting everyone on the same page as people can be stubborn and strongheaded, but it is important to empathise with each others’ POV and be willing to make compromises

I enjoyed bonding and collaborating with leaders from fellow schools, and am very humbled to learn about what it is like to be a leader in those schools

For me, today's activities have helped to reinforce the importance of open, clear and consistent commication between various teams and leadership bodies. This ensures that everything can be executed in the most effective way possible according to plan, and allows for the entire team to pivot as a whole should we encounter the need to make changes on the ground.

One challenge I face in RI would be fostering commucation and interactions between various leadership bodies and teams of prefect. Through this challenge, I can take the opportunity to promote better conversation and discussion amongst student leaders, and work to develop effective platforms for communication.

I enjoyed interacting with leaders from other schools to learn more about the macro-structures of their leadership boards, and their personal experiences as fellow student leaders. I look forward to further opportunities to improve my relationships and understanding of those with different experiences as student leaders :)
