💧 Their very first experiment in November took them straight into the heart of their community — testing the quality of Lozova’s drinking water. With real lab skills and teamwork, they discovered that several local sources contain nitrites and nitrates above the safe limit. Science got real fast! But they didn’t stop there — they shared their findings with students from Rose Hill School in North Carolina, USA. Thanks to Andreea Nicolaescu, an enthusiastic 11th-grade student, the results traveled across the ocean, sparking not only a scientific exchange but also a cultural one.

🤝 Alongside experiments, this team builds bridges: they learn about American life, share traditions from Moldova, and prove that STEM is not just about numbers and formulas — it’s about collaboration, curiosity, and global citizenship.

From co-authoring didactic materials with the Peace Corps, to coordinating national and international initiatives like Global Youth Service Day and now Teach STEM Moldova, she brings creativity, leadership, and inspiration into every classroom moment.

On the occasion of World Water Day, English teacher S. Hovhannisyan and Russian teacher A. Hakobyan organized interdisciplinary lessons dedicated to the vital importance of water.

During the lessons, students actively participated in thematic discussions, answered questions, and presented independent research projects and presentations, sharing their collected data and innovative ideas with their classmates.

Particular interest was generated by the application of the “Three-Step Interview” method:
• First stage: students answered questions individually.
• Second stage: discussions were held in pairs.
• Third stage: results were summarized in small groups.

This format of instruction contributed to the development of students’ critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills. At the same time, the lesson promoted awareness of water conservation and strengthened environmental consciousness among students.
