Henry Arnold was the general at the time when the war begin, and Sophia's brother William Calderwood was working with General Arnold as well as George Washington, and helping to fight for independence. Henry Arnold and George Washington were realistic people in our book, and they were part of our history. George was chosen to fight and in the story Sophia's brother worked with General Arnold and General Washington, but her brother ended up dying. They got into the story by her brother working with them, and what they did was help to fight for independence. Sophia also considered General Arnold her hero as stated on page 125. At the end she realized General Arnold is commiting treason and hes no longee Sophias hero.

We picked this song because Sophia was overwhelmed, hopeful, and sad. In the story Sophia wants to gain independence for her brother William who died fighting for their country which is the hopeful part. She has a flirty relationship with the soldier who lived in her house, John Andre, which eventually makes her uncomfortable and overwhelmed. She asks him to help her save her brother and he refuses, which makes her sad. She eventually becomes a spy and gets overwhelmed, but she was a spy. So that is why we chose this music.

Sophia Calderwood, a twelve year old girl, who develops a mindset as a patriot in 1776, after witnessing Nathan Hales death. Her families home in New York city becomes the home of John Andre, a British officer, the first of many to stay in their home during the British occupation within the city. Sophia develops a crush on John, and become flirty with him, as well as drawn to him. Until, he refuses to help her save her brother who is a prisoner due to the war. She vows to get back at John after her brother dies on a prison ship. Eventually, three years later she gets the change to get revenge on John when she finds the opportunity to become a spy at the Kennedy house and figures out John is working with Benedict Arnold to spell the end for American forces, ending the war. Sophia's plan wasn't as great as it seemed. Sophia went to tellers point to tell officers what happened, but couldn't say she was a spy. She eventually feels nobody is doing anything, and she remembers her brothers old friend John Paulding told her if she needed anything she could find him in Tarrytown, so she goes there and explains everything to him, he agreed to help Sophia. She realizes the consequences John might face if they catch him, she feels guilty because of her feelings towards him. They eventually caught Andre, and John Paulding and his three friends, revealing he was considered a spy. They took Andre to their commander and he decided to tell General Washington, and to send Andre to General Arnold. Sophia worked for Mr. Townshed and he had a mentioned a Mr. Tallmadge, Sophia met him and explained everything, and he made sure Arnold and Andre where in trouble. He also told her about Nathan Hale, who was his friend, the man she watched get hung.
