stageThis image depicts the vast emptiness and void of space, mostly occupied by nothing and it aims to capture how Kubler-Ross describes acceptance. She states that happiness seems like a void, or when one feels empty of emotions. This image symbolizes that emptiness felt by someone in such a state and shows the level of clarity and detachment that one who reaches this stage faces.

This GIF shows the Minion embracing and hugging another one. I chose this artifact because when one reaches acceptance they are comfortably open to the reality of their situation. In being only embracing of their reality and open to acceptance, one who is going through the process of dealing with death can lead fulfilling lives.

This painting entitled Dance of Death (1635) by Frans Francken shows an image of a man who seems to be listening to a violin being played by an image who represents death. This painting captures the essence of how in the acceptance stage, one works past their anger and denial of their situation, and work past their grief into a place where they can reach peace. In this painting we see the character interact with "Death" quite nonchalantly and calmly in an accepting fashion.

This image shows a figure peacefully sleeping and resting. This artifact is meant to show an image of Kubler-Ross description of how people who had entered an acceptance stage of the process tend to take more time in periods of rest and sleep, slowly reaching a state similar to that of death. People become more and more removed from normal life and end periods of respite from life to the eventual state where they die. This image shows how someone in acceptance can reach a peaceful mindset.

This artifact shows the death of the protagonist King Leonidas from the film 300 (2006). In this scene we are shown Leonidas embracing with open arms a volleys of arrows, a sign of him welcoming his death. He is so welcoming and accepting because he has reached a point where he understands the value of his actions and that his death was meaningful. I chose this artifact because it is meant to be symbolic of how one accepts death as they work through the stages and can finally reach a peaceful end.
