The video I watched was: Simple, effective tech to connect communities in Crisis by Johanna Figueira.

She grew up in Venezuela, she didn't realize Venezuela had major issues until she moved to America and saw the real difference in what people needed and what people got. Johanna's mom had gotten sick, and after a while her mom was out of medicine, when they asked for more the pharmacy was out, there was no more medicine that Johanna's mom could get to help her. And even asking and going to the government they didn't give anyone in Venezuela anything to help after they ran out.

Johanna looked at what she had found out, and decided she wanted to help her mom out and her people in Venezuela. She and her team created a twitter hashtag and a twitter bot to help people in Venezuela find the medicine they need, to connect the people who need help to the people who can help them. Making sure that everyone that need help, needs medicine can get it and hopefully are able to get better. Johanna and her team work every day to make the bot better and make sure that people are able to connect and get the help they need!

He shows how difficult it is to challenge those in power. He expresses that journalists should confront power, no matter who it is to prove a point. He shows this in his infamous press conference with Donald Trump. He starts to ask a question about Mexican immigrants and quickly gets shut down by Donald Trump. But he insists on his right to ask a question. He quickly gets escorted out by Trump's guards and gets told to return to his country. The most important thing I've learned from this is not to be afraid to speak up and reject fear.

In the video Jose Andres spoke about how natural disasters were putting many people through hard times as well as a lot of loss. Because of this he started making a simple plan to resource them with food. he did this by starting small and feeding local people with a couple of food trucks but it grew quickly over time because of the people felt more obligated to help out because of the empathy they felt as well. while he never had a set plan, he got the entire island to work as a team expanding to feeding many other places in need ending up feeding over 2 million people.

In José Andrés ted talk "How a team of chefs fed Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria." He mainly talks about how unified of a community they had of volunteers and how helpful they were throughout the whole journey/process. He had also brought up points on how he was able to fund getting planes and helicopters and even brought the first water purifiers in Vieques. Another main point he brought up was how he would make the people (Specifically elderly.) feel not alone and felt at home and at ease after the tragedy, he cooked and fed the elderly by bringing them food and remembering their names and speaking to them in a kind way.

In summary in his ted talk was about the community formed and the worked they did to help puerto rico out after the hurricane.
