This would be an excellent book when covering the phases of the moon and explaining vocabulary terms such as crescent, quarter, and gibbous. The pages have cutouts of the phases so that the changes are clear, which further helps understand the vocabulary. It is also written in rhyme and can be used as a prompt for an activity on poetry.</div>]]></description>

It can also be used to introduce the concept of personification since the book is told from the perspective of a Salmonella bacteria named Sam.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This entertaining story is excellent for children in K-2. The book is full of dialogue, so in order to fully capture the book's essence, excellent prosody must be used. In saying this, the book is a great example to show students how using inflection and different voice pitches can impact a story. This encourages students to phase out of reading like a robot. </div>]]></description>

Since the book includes both onomatopoeia and rhyme, it is a great to have children repeat lines of the text to practice prosody.</div>]]></description>
