This part of the story demonstrates his extreme pride and his belief that he is invincible, demonstrating his hubris emotions throughout. According to him, "None of women born shall harm Macbeth." Meaning no one born on this Earth can or will lay a hand on him. He demonstrates how his pride has made him oblivious to his weakness and overconfidence in combat. Because of the second apparition, All of this is demonstrated when Macbeth informs MacDuff that he is wasting his own time attempting to murder him because no one can harm him.

Macbeth experiences paranoia when he makes his second trip to see the witches. And requests that the witches inform him of his next course of action. When they tell him about the previously mentioned remark from Act 4 Scene 1, he takes it too literally and believes that it is highly unlikely that trees will take away or undermine his power. Once more, his ego and vanity prevent him from seeing the truth and leave him blank to see the reality. Then, which later on, it backfires on him.

This quotation captures Macbeth's ultimate destruction of himself and everyone else around him, therefore reflecting the level of his ego. Not only does it show his ego, but it allows us to see the soliloquy where he admits to acknowledging all the damage he's caused, but due to his hubris, he'll still do anything to serve his ambition. He is asking for the stars to hide their light so no one will be able to see the dark he desires inside of himself. Once again, showing that he'll do anything in power, even if it is a betrayal, to get what he wants and not allow anyone to stop him in any circumstances because he believes he's unstoppable due to his pride. He allows this act of Hubris to take over him even when he knows he's wrong.

Hubris has an impact globally in many ways it can cause isolation, poor decision-making, reckless risks, ethical and legal issues, and more. Imagine having a leader who is so Hubris it would be dangerous. According to Forbes.com, "In the long run, you will likely lose status and respect if you allow it to sneak up on you." This means that if you don't avoid Hubris, it'll be very complex to gain or keep the respect others have for you because Hubris is an exaggerated belief that someone is influenced, acknowledges, and more. Causing them to do anything in their pride and ego to accomplish that belief without thinking of the consequences. This act leads to a dismissive attitude towards others. Leaders need to avoid Hubris so that they can successfully run and not be overtaken by power, causing them to lose their respect and their status. Hubris can be seen anywhere with a group leader, country leader, teacher, and more, even with our parents.

Hubris affects personal life, too, like in school. In school, there are many times when there is group work. No matter what the job is, there will always be a leader, and sometimes that leader is Hubris. When you are working with someone, Hubris is stressed and hard because they want things to go a certain way due to their pride in being in charge of a project. This causes many conflicts and causes the other members to lose respect and dedication to accomplish what they need. Not only in school, but Hubris connects to sports as well. Having a captain or a team member who's filled with Hubris causes a big shock in the team altogether and during games. It is difficult for everyone to work together because one has too much pride and could drag others down. Even in my personal life, the theme of Hubris impacts me greatly. Having a high ego and pride can cause so much isolation and loss in many relationships and friendships altogether.
