Screams test shots
my idea is to create a series of shots of my female friends and I screaming in different public locations- developing my ideas surrounding private and public spaces and the pressures of women to act a certain way when under the public eye.

Hi Leyla, I am not sure whether joining the clips to make one long continuous scream, is effective or if it looks a bit rushed like this. What do you think?

I didn't have any particular other questions, however I am just interested in your opinion and if you have any tips/sug
gestions.

Hi Hattie, I love the screaming women, the video already is a strong start. it makes me want to watch many more iterations of this same performance. the one long stream strung together from different screams is working but just make it much longer. Have a look at kusum normoyle's work who uses her voice and screaming as a sound performance. there is an intensity to her work that might be good to think about. think also about the duration of the scream. it might be more interesting to lengthen it out, make it durational, play around with comfortability. i'm also aware of your last assignment and those short clips strung together is harking back to the easy play of a tik tok video. you want to disrupt easy watching. have a look too at an early Barbara Cleveland performance where they performed a durational group laugh. which is the opposite to a scream, so would be interesting to explore in comparison. but more specifically have a look at that performance and how the laugh turns into something different at various stages, at times funny and at times really uncomfortable.
