The tower of london is a castle located in London near the London Bridge. It was built in 11th century by William the Conqueror and rebuilt 200 years later

White tower is one of the oldest parts in the castle and at the same time the most famous one. Its building material was stone, unlike the other 11th century normandian castles which were built of wood.

Tower of london was build in 1078. It was build to cover London from enemy attacks. It was also a royal palace of the queen. At first William the conqueror build only main part of the castle,White tower. Other towers of the castle, Beachamp and Wakefield Towers were build in 13th century. Rickhard Lionheart build the moat of the castle during his reign. The castle was also used as a prison. Right now the castle works as a museum and a tourist attraction.
