SLIDE 1
Summary of phase 1

SLIDE 2
Presentation

SLIDE 3

Sum up

We decided to focus on ears protection. This is one of the most important point of the head which is, as you know, the top of our body. If you do not take care about your ears you do not take care about your head, your health, your brain, your intelligence.

SLIDE 4

The first fact you have to know is noise degrades the productivity at work:

-6 million of French workers loose more than 30min of work every day because of noise

-23 billion € of loses every year

Despite this knowledges, only 4 french workers out of 10 wear ear protections.

SLIDE 5

Consequences are significant :

- headaches, sleep disorder, stress, absenteiism, medical expenses, team distrubance.

And of course, the last but not least is irretrievable loss : if you do not take care of your ears today you will never be able to regain your hearing.

SLIDE 6

To answer to this request, we first decided to work about an integral protection. Our tagline was : "Protect your ears, move your head". We want to be sure that workers are wearing their helmets and keep it all along the day.

SLIDE 7

Thanks to this helmet, aches at work are reduced.

There is : - a neck's protection which allows you to move your head bottom-up.

                               - a little visor to extend the visibility

                               - a "all-in-one" solution to reduce the weight and accessories

SLIDE 8

Concerning materials, we thought about working with foam. We took inspiration from skiing helmet : they are strong, reassuring and the best one are comfortable. This helmet becomes your working assistant.

SLIDE 9

Then we had ventilations on the sides always in term of comfort.

I hope you better understand this sentence : "Protect your ear. Move your head" and thanks with this helmet workers will keep ear protection because it will show them a new practicality and helpfulness.

SLIDE 10

Our second idea is about prevention : how to show to people they have to take care about their ears. Even if they know the facts I told you before they do not take it into consideration. How change their behaviour ? How to guide them into a responsible way of acting ?

SLIDE 11

According to the area, there are 3 noise levels :

- the first one is around 40dB. It matches to light noises and is not disturbing.

- the second one is around 60dB. It matches to building tools, cement mixer or mower. It is uncomfortable and harmful.

- the third and the worst it around 90dB. It is an engine on take-on like an airplane.

-after 120dB you lose your hearing.

SLIDE 12

We want to help people to choose the good protection and work on sensitization and communication.

SLIDE 13

This time we worked with light. More specificaly with LEDS on bike's helmet. People are wearing helmet to protect themselves form others on the road, and to be visible when they are pedalling. Keeping this idea we could allow workers to protect themselves from noise and to be visible to others.

SLIDE 14

We focused on readability of the helmet. We want to have a talkative helmet. It is speaking with you thanks to lights. You see it, read it and understand it. Thanks to sound detectors, you know which plugg choose and when the helmet is ready to use.

SLIDE 15

"You ear noise. You see it"

SLIDE 16

The last project is about VIP workers including the president, team managers, the queen Elisabeth form United Kingdom or the Pope.

SLIDE 17

On construction sites, these kind of people come in term of visit of exception. We can talk about unusual visit or one-time visit. They come on the site only for few minutes, to see it, to expertise and judge the progress of work.

SLIDE 18 AND 19

We want to have a ear plugg discrete but recognizable. A ear plugg is stored just up the right ear. There is a little hole which protects it from dust and guarantee user to have always ears pluggs with him. On the left one there is a micro to communicate. This system would be connected with bluetooth. An important way to exchange between workers on their desks and workers on sites.

Thus you talk, you work.

SLIDE 20

To sum up our ideas, these are our 3 concepts.

Thank you for you attention.
