This is also the story of Passover. The 10 plagues were blood, frogs, lice, flies, disease on livestock, boils, fiery hail, locusts, darkness, and finally the one that moved the Pharaoh for like 30 minutes was death of the first born. The Pharaoh decided to chase the Jews after they walked away. Synagogues have Torah scrolls written in hebrew. The scrolls are usually very beautiful and very colorful. When the scrolls are not being used they are kept in a place called an ark. A lunar calendar is a calendar that is based on cycles of the lunar phases, periodically the Lunar calendar adds one more month than normal calendars. Three main holidays that are celebrated are, Rosh Hashanah, Yom kippur, and passover. Rosh Hashanah celebrates The jewish new year, this is usually celebrated by dipping apples in honey. Yom Kippur is the end of the 10 days where the Jew asked for forgiveness, people spend the day praying and fasting. Lastly passover celebrates God's rescue of the ancient israelites from slavery in egypt during ancient times. People during this holiday usually eat Matzah,  this bread symbolizes when the israelites had to leave so quickly that the bread didn't have enough time to bake through. Al of these jewish holiday's usually fall in the same season.

One of them being keeping kosher. These rules are that Jewish people can not eat meat and dairy at the same meal. Jewish people are also not allowed to eat pork or shellfish. Also on holy holidays Jews are not allowed to work. On Shabbat Jews aren't allowed to work, use electricity, or do many other things.
