John played football growing up. He was more into the arts of music. John played many instruments, but mainly piano. Piano has always been a big thing for him. Even now, he has a piano in his house that was his mother's. It is very important to him, and though he needs it retuned after a recent move, he plays it frequently.

Where did you grow up?

John grew up in Sabina, OH in a farm house his family built. The family had been there for so many generations, the road is actually named after them. Hence forth, Luttrell Rd. John lived there with his father, mother, and four siblings. John purchased the house and land from his family after he married his wife, Amy. They had lived there up until about a month ago, when they moved into a temporary home while transitioning for a future move to San Diego.

John's favorite holiday has always been Christmas.

What's the best part of aging?

John's favorite thing about aging is the fact that he's gotten to see other's maturing and growing in his life. Whether that's his own kids or the ones from his church that he has taken under his wing and mentored. He loves being able to give back.

John's favorite memory is watching his son, Levi, graduate from the Illinois Institute of Technology of Chicago.

He would also like to put out the disclaimer that this is not favoritism of children, he just enjoyed the experience.

John met his wife, Amy, at a New Years Eve Party in 1984-1985. He remembers meeting her with a glass of rum and coke, and knowing that he wanted to marry her that day. They got married in 1986.

John is a long time Christian. He is very involved in his church and loves helping younger men, like myself. He's always there for a good sarcastic joke or a good bit of wisdom.

John loves spending time with his family. He has two sons, Jared and Levi, and a daughter, Kelsey. Kelsey is local in Wilmington, OH. They also enjoy travelling to both San Diego and Seattle to visit his two sons. Jared, and his family, live in San Diego, which John and Amy plan on moving to, once they both retire.
