Another thing I remember is that when I was in middle school, I didn't have any say in my hairstyle. My mom would often decide when I needed a haircut and what style I should get, which usually left me unhappy with my hair.

Now that I'm older, I have complete control over my hairstyle, but I choose to keep it in its natural color and shape. One reason for this is that I don't want people to judge my personality based on my hair. Another reason is that changing hairstyles (color, look) requires a lot of time and money. While I believe that changing one's hairstyle is a form of self-expression and identity, I no longer feel the need to change my hairstyle frequently or dye my hair in bright colors.
