The Mexico-American War was justified for both Mexico and America. The war started when the United States built a fort in Texas which Mexico claimed as its own land. Because of this, Mexican soldiers attacked American soldiers which was the start of the war. This attack was justified because Mexico saw it as an invasion of their land and privacy. For the U.S., it was justified for them to fight the Mexicans because they were attacked first. Also, they wanted California and New Mexico to be part of the U.S. which was one of the reasons they were fighting.

Yes, I think the war was justified because after the miscommunication of what land Texas actually had the Americans built a fort on which they thought was the border of Texas but Mexico treated it as the Americans were on their land and attacked the U.S. This is what made the U.S. attack because their men were being killed and if America didn't act they could've lost some land. It also helps America gain more land in the process.

No, the Mexican-American War was not justified for the United States because the reason for the war was because Americans (especially President James K. Polk) wanted Mexico's land. When Polk first offered money to buy Mexico's land, he was declined, but he didn't stop there and just wanted to take the land Mexico rightfully had, not caring about the consequences. When Americans built a fort on the Rio Grande, they probably knew this would anger Mexicans and if the POV was switched and Mexicans did this to Americans, the Americans would have most likely attacked as well. It makes sense why the Mexicans attacked as they saw this as America threatening them. So while Mexico attacked first, it was the Americans who were provoking them to do so. I feel like making the fort and caused this conflict was unnecessary for the US to do, and that Americans weren't justified in provoking this war just to gain land.

The requirement wanted Mexico to sell their territory. After the Texas revoluition, the relationship between Mexico and US was worse than before. After the war, Mexico lost half of their territory. Even though, US gave money for the territory, it was big damage in Mexico. You can think that it was justified since Mexico fired first, but US made them to fire.

The Mexican- American War was not justified in my opinion. President James K. Polk wanted Mexico's land and offered money, in which the Mexico government declined, this did not stop James K. Polk. He built the fort on Rio Grande and angered the Mexicans, causing them to attack. This action, in my opinion, is reasonable because the Mexicans can see this as a threat. The war began and the Americans sent many soldiers to different parts of Mexico, while the Mexican government struggled to defend against the American soldiers attacking from so many places. President James K. Polk expected the Mexican government to make peace upon this action, but instead, the Mexican government wanted to kick out General Taylor out of Mexico, which was a failure. Hence, this gave Taylor a big victory. Then, the American soldiers were ordered to attack the capital of Mexico and capture it. With American soldiers surrounding the capital, Mexico ended war. In the end, Mexico lost almost half of its territory, and was paid half of what the president offered before war while American gained lands, which seems unjustified to me because they should have been paid more upon loosing more lands than the offer before war

The war was not justified because the Americans quickly resorted to violence. The Americans had offered peacefully to pay for New Mexico and California, but when they were refused, they invaded Mexico. They invaded them without hesitation despite them being one of the small nations they promised to protect in the Monroe Doctrine. Additionally, they had provoked Mexico at the border on the Rio Grande river, essentially forcing Mexico to take action. Some may argue that it was justified as the Mexicans strictly controlled and disturbed Texans, yet the U.S. was not yet affiliated with Texas and so their business should not influence the actions of the U.S..
