RUBY BRIDGES
In 1960, at the age of 6, his parents were members of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and agreed to participate in the New Orleans racial integration system. Ruby, protected by federal agents, was the first African American to attend an elementary school, until then "for whites only," the William Frantz Elementary School. Although the United States Supreme Court had declared segregation illegal since 1954, there was still strong opposition from governments and certain communities in the southern states. To enter white schools, black girls had to show that they were of sufficient academic standing; Thus, they were subjected to a test, the result of which depended on whether or not they had the opportunity to attend those schools. For families it was not just any decision: although the laws approved integration, society was very much against the measure. It was not an easy decision or free of consequences.
- question: for you why is education important in social and cultural aspects?
- answer: Education is important since it helps to have a basis so that we young people have the right to decide what we want to do with our lives later, that no one can judge us for the decision of the career we want to study

For you why is education important in social and cultural aspects?
° Education is important because the student is trained and they teach him to be respectful, a companion among other things and this will lead him to form the new society and later teach the value of morality. To have a good society that can expand throughout the world and create new things that help us day by day.

° Martin Luther King Jr, was in charge of undertaking a peaceful struggle to achieve equal civil rights for African Americans, his great oratory skills made him one of the most mediatic and influential characters of that time, for more than 10 years he had great achievements in The struggle. for civil rights through nonviolent positions and peaceful demonstrations (and in one of them he attracted more than 250,000). So strong was the movement that King started that Congress enacted the Civil Rights Act in 1964
°Rosa Parks: In the fight for rights, simple gestures can become an important symbol. So believe me at Rosa Parks, she is an idol in the fight against apartheid, because she doesn't want to give up her seat on the bus for white people to sit down. The incident occurred in 1955. She was an American activist and was praised by Congress as the "first lady of the civil rights movement," especially for her role in the anti-segregation transportation system. Finally, in November 1956, the United States Supreme Court declared apartheid unconstitutional on buses. The Supreme Court order reached Montgomery on December 20. On the 21st, the quarantined population returned to the bus, but now they can sit where they want.

°LINK INFORMATION: https://www.lavanguardia.com/vida/junior-report/20200611/481698336174/lideres-negros-lucha-derechos-estados-unidos-racismo.html
