<title>Support:“A vegan diet is in most cases better for the environment than a flexitarian diet, when you consider greenhouse gas emissions, land use, freshwater use and water pollution. “ (BBC, 2020)“Being vegetarian can help slow climate change and its effects on the environment. Raising livestock animals for consumption creates more greenhouse gasses than all of the cars and trucks in the world, so reducing livestock production greatly reduces these emissions. Reduced demand for meat leads to reduced livestock production. Climate change can cause severe weather, like droughts causing forest fires or storms that are harmful to animals and humans. This directly harms animals and destroys their habitats. Climate change changes habitats too. For example, the Arctic fox faces threats of melting sea ice and tundra habitat due to the rise in global temperatures.” (Chritz, 2020)</title>

<title>Support: “Vegetarians appear to have lower low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure and lower rates of hypertension and type 2 diabetes than meat eaters. Vegetarians also tend to have a lower body mass index, lower overall cancer rates and lower risk of chronic disease.” (Kelly, 2020)“The researchers found that those who didn’t eat meat had 10 fewer cases of heart disease and three more strokes per 1,000 people compared with the meat-eaters. Researcher Tammy Tong, nutritional epidemiologist at the University of Oxford, says the higher risk of haemorrhagic stroke could be for several reasons.” (BBC FUTURE, 2019)</title>
