My students struggle to write essays / long responses. When I see a student is struggling to figure out a topic / introduction, I like to help them write their topic sentence and create an outline so that they feel better about what they are working on.

My favorite form of differentiation is using sentence stems to help students with more academic writing. I provide them for all students, but I encourage the higher level learners to try their own thing, with the sentence stem as a model for reference.

For students who take longer to complete work, reducing the number of problems they are required to do on a test or assignment.

Letting students select a topic of interest or framing content around some preferred topics/interests, so less engaged learners may be more willing to participate and produce work.

Using “student-paced” for Peardeck rather than “teacher paced” so kids can work at their own pace, rather than the pace I set; and assessing their performance on the problems and questions they finished.

I’m going to start using technology in my math class by having the students create a YouTube playlist on the content being taught. Also, I’m going to create more helpful note taking sheets for students to use as notes.

Provide anchor charts of music terms and symbols in both English and Spanish, have them share their understanding of terms through speech and performance of the music, make differentiated groups, create prompts to help students get started in talking about music, using icons/pictures for musical symbols and language connection

Students that have a hard time spelling or creating sentences, provide them with the opportunity to draw a picture or use type to text. For many students this helps them explain in depth rather than coming up with a few sentences while writing on pen and paper.
