Tech tasters are great...especially getting to come on-site.

Timing of transition meetings- end of year is hard as most teachers are cognitively overloaded by then.

Communicating information to the intermediate is a bit hit and miss at this time

Tech tasters are great for the majority of the students. They enjoy the experience and find it good to be able to orient themselves. It eases a lot of nerves.

Tier 3 students are well supported. They have multiple visits and get to meet different teachers.

HNI SENCO was not available. There are a couple of students who need to have important information shared.
Previously the information regarding students who should not be placed together is not actioned. They have ended up in the same class, and then have had to be moved.
Previously we have been asked to provide the same information multiple times. HNI is the only school that asks for this.
It is unclear what information year 7 teachers find useful.

He tohu was not mentioned at tech taster visit.. a way to connect and no senior management person was present? Kids were not sure about much apart from the tech taster they were involved in.

Enrollment form online is a terrible first experience for many parents- needs to be tested from the user point of view. Unclear, confusing and impersonal.

Ideas on here are all good. Added might be to provide TiC of year 6 teachers to have access to a flow chart of what's mean't to happen just to check that it is actually happening. SENCO and year 7 dean/s need more interaction with the process.

Not easy transitioning half your school every year. Have you thought about mixed year group classes so that students don't have to change again in 12, 24 months?

It's hard letting go of kids you've known for a long time and hard to have confidence in the process when much of it is online and we hear of teachers not knowing about the year 7 students and their needs.
