Most citizens that were there those fateful days are still too afraid to speak out about it in fear that the government may imprison or deport them and their family's. The government is in almost complete control over the media nothing is done without their knowledge. Anything even remotely negative about China is removed or the author is threatened till it's taken down. I think of the suppressed ideals of the Chinese people kind of like the memory's that Jonas released. and on those fateful June days is what happened when all those memory's and ideals were released to the people. as for the question of What we gain from reading a narrative that tells the story of what Life could be like after the destruction of humanity? On the day of his funeral thousands of students gathered in Tiananmen Square demanding democratic and other reforms. The initial government response was to issue stern warnings to the crowd but take no action against them. This went on for sometime until in the beginning of June the government was ready to act.
