Host: Cheryl, where are you from?

Cheryl: I am from the USA. I live in New York City.

Host: Olia, what about you?

Olia: I am Ukrainian. I am from Lviv.

Host: These are two great cities. And we are now in Kyiv. It’s such a nice day here!

Cheryl: Yes, it is. I really like the warm summer weather.

Host: Cheryl, what’s the weather like in New York in summer?

Cheryl: Weather … the weather in New York is pretty pleasant. It’s really warm, sometimes even hot, but it gets cool in the evenings. It’s about 26 to 29 degrees Celsius. It’s very humid (волого) because it’s near to the sea. But it rarely rains. It’s very pleasant in summer.

Host: Olia, what’s the summer like in Lviv?

Olia: Summer in Lviv is warm, but rainy. The temperature is about 23-26 degrees Celsius. The sky is often clear,

but sometimes it gets cloudy or overcast (похмуро). So don’t forget to take your umbrella when you go for a walk in Lviv!

Host: Good advice, thank you! So tell me now ladies, what are your favorite seasons?

Cheryl: My favorite season in New York is winter. It’s cold and windy. Most of the time the weather is above zero, but sometimes it gets below zero, it’s around 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. I love frosty (морозно) and windy days. It looks amazing there when it snows.

Olia: To tell you the truth (чесно кажучи), winter isn’t my favourite season. It’s freezing! The temperature is about 8-13 degrees below zero. It’s often foggy and slippery (слизько). My favorite season is spring. Spring in Lviv is lovely. It’s warm and sunny. Sometimes it rains, but you can see a rainbow (веселка) in the sky afterwards (опісля).

Host: I like spring time, too. What about you, Cheryl?

Cheryl: To tell you the truth, I am not a big fan of spring. It’s really windy and stormy. I like fall though! It’s breezy (свіжо), chilly (прохолодно) and sunny. It rarely … it doesn’t rain very often and it’s very pleasant.

Host: Good to know. What about autumn in Lviv?

Olia: It rains a lot. The sky is often gloomy (похмуро, морок). There are thunderstorms (грози) and strong winds. I really miss the sun! Alina, what about you? What’s your favourite season?

Host: Well, I am a summer person. It’s the best! You can enjoy not only the weather but everything nature (природа) gives you. This fruit, for example. Thank you, ladies, for a nice talk! Let’s go for a walk now and feel the real summer!
