         <title>Types Of Schools</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>One type of school in the early 2000's was a Charter School. These types of schools provide free public elementary/secondary education under a charter granted by the state legislature or other appropriate authority.&nbsp;<br>The second time of school in this era was Magnet Schools. This type of school is designed to attract students of different racial/ethnic backgrounds for the purpose of reducing racial isolation, or to provide an academic or social focus on a specific theme. Ex- Performing Arts Schools.<br>The third type is a Public School. A public school provides educational services to students, has an assigned administrator, receives public funds as its primary support, and is operated by an education agency.&nbsp;<br>Title 1 schools were also popular in this time era. They are designated as eligible for participation in programs authorized by Title I of Public Law 103-382.&nbsp;<br>Alternative schools addresses the needs of students that typically can't be met in the regular school setting, and provides nontraditional education.&nbsp;<br>Special Education Schools are focused on special education, with materials and instructional approaches adapted to meet the students' needs.&nbsp;<br>Lastly, there are Vocational Education schools. These schools focus on vocational, technical or career education and provides education or training in at least one semiskilled or technical occupation&nbsp; &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Some influences on schools stem from elected leaders and governmental officials. Their decisions play an important role on influences on schools. They can campaign on educational platforms to gain a influences in how schools should run.&nbsp;<br>Corporations and their representatives have become involved in influencing education policy at local, state, and federal levels, in their pursuit of employees who possess the skills and knowledge needed by a productive workforce. &nbsp;<br>&nbsp;Educational concerns may motivate professional organizations, parents, and others to work toward particular goals. For example, education and professional associations and their government relations representatives lobby federal and state lawmakers regarding policy decisions, including financial allocations.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>One educational goal of the early 2000's was to improve learning and teaching by providing a national framework for education reform.<br>The second goal in education was to promote the research, consensus building, and systemic changes needed to ensure equitable educational opportunities and high levels of educational achievement for all students.<br>The third goal is to provide a framework for re authorization of all Federal education programs.<br>The fourth goal is to promote the development and adoption of a voluntary national system of skill standards and certifications; and for other purposes. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>William Henry Gates II:</strong> He created Microsoft, his keen business strategy and aggressive business tactics, and he has donated billions to many charities and continues to do so to this day. <br><strong>Oprah Winfrey:</strong> She has used her position as the most influential and successful woman in media to inspire, educate and empower people of all walks of life-- all over the world. She has influenced the way women think, talk, eat, study, shop, exercise and lead. Oprah's Angel Network has raised more than $80 million to help educate and empower women and children to believe in themselves, to support people around the globe in pursuing their dreams… and to provide those who are underprivileged and underserved with the means and education to reach their potential.<br><strong>LeBron James:</strong> "I Promise Program".&nbsp; Sending 1,100 kids to college, which would cost his foundation a total of $41.8 million at the school's current rates.<br><strong>George W. Bush: </strong>On January 8th, 2002 the "No Child Left Behind Act" was put into place so children from underprivileged backgrounds can have the same educational opportunities as their peers. The act holds schools accountable for their students success, and was put into place because of a concern that America was no longer internationally competitive academically.</div>]]></description>
