I plan to place cut pieces and twigs all over the viola in spontaneous geometric shapes in a way that visualizes the sound of Vivaldi's Autumn in an attempt show the visual nature behind music, and the feelings and connotations that are attached to music in my own experiences. I then cut the pieces out and glued them together with support beams.
After this, I cut out piece of wood to glue in triangular shapes coming out of the viola face. Each piece of wood is anchored in two spots -- none stand freely with only one anchor.
Finally, I used actual sticks and twigs from around MSU's campus and from around my town to create the illusion of trees sprouting from the viola. I included bark and acorns on the bottom layer and there are leaves at the very top.

I originally planned for it to be hold-able, but after multiple attempts, every time I added a neck to the viola, it snapped off. I took it to mean that that is not the direction the piece needs to go.
