Some people had to pay more and some had to pay less it just depended on how important they were to the government. This picture represents the inequality in France. The peasants had to serve the nobles and kings and they treated the peasants very badly. The nobles and clergy were exempted from the taxes while others had to work to be able to pay of their taxes. This was not fair to everyone else and French people were not happy with this situation and wanted a change which lead to the French revolution.
