Many people say, Why do we have to study history? Aren't we living today and preparing for the future? that's what they said. we need to know that Allah put a third of the Quran is history, so we should put it as an important part of education.

In the Qur'an, many tells about the history of the pious and the history of dissidents. Allah says; Indeed in their stories, there is a lesson for men of understanding (who have sound of mind) 

So when we study the Quran, we are studying history and also contemplating the lessons from it. Studying the history of defeat is not for crying. and learn the history of victory not just to be remembered, but to learn the "why".

Because Ustaz asked for the negative side of history, I will do that. Honestly I feel excited to learn about the history and stories of a people, wars, civilizations and others. but on the other hand I am very weak in remembering the date of the incident and the year it happened.

You should read it, and without a biased opinion, try to understand its maximum truth. Make sure you never repeat the same mistakes, and use the good part to guide you.
