It is a timeless masterpiece that delves into themes of justice, racism, and morality through the eyes of young Scout Finch. Set in the racially charged South of the 1930s. It shows the struggle of a lawyer who defends a black men accused wrongly. The narrative masterfully combines innocence with harsh realities, leaving a lasting impact. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in literature that challenges societal norms.

-Armeen

Khaled Hosseini is a tremendous author, and in The Kite Runner, he captures the harsh reality of Afghanistan like no history book ever could. The characters—Amir, Rahim Khan, Assef, and Sohrab—each have a story that resonates emotionally, teaching us that everyone has a past that shapes them. Sohrab’s wisdom, “...it’s wrong to hurt even bad people because they don’t know any better, and because bad people sometimes become good,” stands out. One surprising aspect was Amir's journey to belief in Allah (SWT), showing how in times of hopelessness, we must turn to God for guidance. This book stirred emotions I didn’t know a story could, from nostalgia to sadness, and made me realize how fleeting everything is, especially in the wake of war. These characters aren’t just fictional; they feel real, like people I see every day. I encourage anyone who’s put off reading this book to give it a chance—you won’t regret it.

A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens owes its title to its setting in the French Revolution. It provides a contrast to the circumstances in Paris and London as two subsequent empires. As the central character, Sydney Carton, Elizabeth’s beloved, begins as a drunkard but in the end, sacrifices himself for a lady he truly loves. Several conflicts are examined in the book, love and loss, love and sacrifice, love that inspires change and anything as humble as fighting between classes. We see the story of how people develop and how the world is still unjust through strong personalities and dramatic actions. It's an interesting drama full of love and pain with great moral lessons.

This is not just a book, but a compilation of the struggles and sacrifices of ordinary people during harsh times. Its a story about the life in London and Paris when the French Recolution is on the rise. The main character here is Charles Darney, a French man and Sydney Carton, who is English. Both men love Lucie Manette, whose father was unfairly imprisoned for years. The story shows the violence of the revolution and the power of love and sacrifice. In the end Carton gives up his life to save Darnay showing deep courage and selflessness in hard times. - Umair
