Tisha Kirk
Children's Literature
Spring 2018
CRN 5154

Social media is everywhere these days and is used by almost everyone. It can be a great tool of communication if it is used in the right way. Most of the social media outlets are fairly simple to use also. They are easily accessible as long as there is internet service. For my social media I used Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest.

My Twitter post was no that successful. I am barely on there mainly because I am not too familiar with it. So as you can see only one person replied back to my post. This person did however share my tweet and encouraged other teachers to give feedback. That is a great thing about Twitter, sharing is easy and you can also tag people in your posts.

This had a much better result! I use this social media outlet more and I have a lot more friends on there, which probably resulted in more feedback. It was great to see the different views from various teachers that I know. Like Twitter you can easily share posts and tag people in your post. Both of these tools are great for reaching out to colleagues who may be far away in another state. Both sources allow you to get advice, give advice, be in the know about what is going on around the community or school you are in as well.

This social media source is very useful for a number of things. It's not like the other two where you can make posts about something, make and event, or toll, etc. Pinterest is a very great tool for sharing ideas about pretty much any topic you choose. You are able to select what things you are interested in, and you can change them at any time. You can also follow people who share the same interests as you. I have recently started using this app for lesson ideas. It is a great tool since a lot of teachers may share their lessons and resources.
