         <description><![CDATA[<div>Theme #1:&nbsp;<br>Who am I? I am a Mexican American high school senior who attends the school named Compton Early College. I am also the youngest of five children but the first to attend college.<br>Who do I pretend to be? I pretend to be calm under pressure but in reality I begin to overthink and second guess my decisions.<br>Who do people think I am? People think that I am not paying attention or that I am distracted. <br>Who do I wish I could be? I wish to be more confident and more attenuative to my responsibilities.<br>How has race or ethnic identity played a role in any of these responses? The way that my ethnic identity plays  a role in my responses is that my culture shaped who I am today.<br><br></div>]]></description>

What examples from slide 3 have you seen in the world?<br><br>The types of racism that that I have seen in the google slides are individual racism and institutional racism. Examples from slide three that I have seen in the world is internalized racism and structural racism.<br><br>From the chapter reading, do you think that we live in a post-racial society? Please state why or why not.<br><br>From the chapter reading I do not believe that we live in a post-racial society as we still see a large amount of racism in our society. we still hear about how people still discriminate against others based on their ethnicity and race.<br><br>What is your personal definition of race and do you think that race is a social construct, a biological construct or something else? Please explain your reasoning.<br><br>My personal definition of race is the grouping of people based on their culture and ethnicity. I believe that race a a social concept that is meant to group and describe the physical differences between people.<br><br>Search and find one resource regarding race being a social or biological concept and post it to your Padlet. State its significance.&nbsp;</div><div><br>One thing that stood out to me&nbsp;from this reading is institutional racism. The reason why this is significant is because it shows how some policies in institutions and organizations work to descrimenate minorities.</div>]]></description>
