After her father left her, and her mother died, Pram Bellamy was raised by her two, normal aunts. And for the most part, she was normal, too. Like most people, Pram Bellamy has always been able to see the world of the living— but she could also see the world of the dead. In fact, her best friend, Felix, is a ghost. One day, however, when Pram starts school (she was home-schooled until the age of 12), she meets Clarence, and she takes an instant liking to him, and he to her. Pram tells Clarence about her gift, and he asks he to help contact his dead mother, whom he is sue is trying to tell him something. So together, they visit a number of spiritualists, until they meet Lady Savant. Lady Savant kidnaps Pram, and together Clarence and Felix (who don't like each other, and can't communicate, as Felix is a ghost) have to save her. Will they succeed, or will Lady Savant finish off Pram?

No matter what others may say, I love fairy tales (too childish they say) and classics (too boring they say). L. Frank Baum's stories are little bit of both, so I especially love them. This ageless tale features Dorothy, who travels in a cyclone to the magical land of Oz. There, she journeys to the Emerald City to meet the famous Wizard of Oz, and meets the Scarecrow (who wants a brain), the Tin Woodman (who wants a heart), and the Cowardly Lion (who wants courage) on the way. Together, they defeat the Wicked Witch of the West, and receive what they want. Most of us know this tale, but few have read the original story, and the little twists and details that have been lost through generations of adaptations make the tale a thousand times better.

While taking a walk one day, Dorothy Gale and her dog Toto meet the Shaggy Man, a friendly but crazy hobo, who was lost. She agrees to show him the way to Butterfield and takes one of the seven paths around her. They find themselves in another land, and there they meet Button-Bright, a cute little toddler, and Polychrome, who is the Rainbow's daughter. They travel through the town of Foxville (where all the citizens are talking foxes) and later meet the Musicker (who creates music by breathing). They also fight off the Scoodlers (ho fight by removing their heads and throwing them). Eventually, they reach the desert surrounding Oz. Will they be able to make there in time for Ozma' birthday?

Josephine, a widow, is scared of everything, and she loves grammar. So the Baudelaires think that she'd be scared of Count Olaf, too. But, when he shows up disguised as Captain Sham, she doesn't believe that he's Olaf. So what will happen when she throws herself out of a window and into Lake Lachrymose and leaves the kids in the care of Count Olaf?

When Otto meets three mysterious sisters in the woods, he finds himself in a mysterious quest, about a prophecy, a saved life, and a harmonica.

After leaving Lucky Smells Lumbermill, the Baudelaire orphans are sent to Prufrock Prep, where the motto is Memento Mori, or Remember You Will Die. There they have to live in a nasty shack with fungus and crabs, get tormented by Carmelita Spats (a mean girl who thinks she's perfect), and put up with extremely boring teachers, a mocking principal, and his terrible violin recitals. But, they meet the Quagmire triplets, whose parents (and third triplet) also died in a fire and left behind a huge fortune (in the form of Quagmire sapphires). One day, the Baudelaires are sent to meet Coach Genghis, the new PE teacher. The orphans realize Genghis is actually Olaf but pretend to be fooled. Olaf tries to make them too tired to do well in school so that they'd be sent to live with him. The Baudelaires try to make Nero (their principal) realize this, but he won't listen. Will the orphans find a way around the horrid man's plan, or will Olaf get his hands on them once and for all?

After the Quagmires are kidnapped by Olaf, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny are sent to live with Jerome and Esme Squalor. Esme is a bossy woman who only cares about what's "in" and doesn't allow anything that's "out," and Jerome is a nice man, but never stands up to Esme as he hates arguing. One day, as Esme is preparing for the "In Auction," she meets up with Gunther, who the children quickly realize is Olaf. Of course, nobody believes them, and the children find out that one of the elevators at the hotel is ersatz, or fake. After climbing down the shaft, they discover that Duncan and Isadora Quagmire are locked up in a cage at the bottom, and Esme is actually in league with Olaf. Will the orphans find a way to free their friends or will they join them as Olaf's captives?
