The women's suffrage movement sparked equality in 1848 in Seneca Falls New York. The leaders of this convention were Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. The Seneca Falls convention expressed the need for suffrage for women in schools, households, work, church, and the right to vote. Progress was started slowly, but surely. States like New York started passing laws for women to keep their property and wages. Massachusetts and Indiana passed divorce laws for women. It was held to discuss the need for social, religious equality, and rights for women. The Convention was in New York and stretched to the span of two days which were July 19, 1848-July 20,1848. In that time span they created the Declaration of Sentiments.
