She places her work between busy cities and natural water ways. She herself sees her work as apocalyptic as they are shelter that could survive what she sees the future climate crisis being. All of the structure are livable with gardens for food and kitchens for cooking, some voulenters even stay in the houses as part of the installation. All of the "islands" are placed on drums of air which can float if they become flooded die to rising water levels. The work makes many important statements towards where the future could be going in terms of the many effects of global warming. This work helps to really visualize how the drastic effects of climate change could impact the ways of living. I am very intrigued about the longevity that this artwork embodies. The plants/ garden for food sustenance, and the land-sea compatibility of the structure, though a scary reminder of what could be, also gives hope and reminder of human perseverance and idea.
