Firstly, when you went to Malaysia or Indonesia you will think that they speaks the same language. It is actually true because they both actually the same people originally. When we look back at history we will actually see that Malaysia was build up by Parameswara, an outcast royalty from Indonesia. Hence they speak basically the same language. However, due to history of colonization by two different country which is British in Malaysia and Dutch in Indonesia, there are some varieties in the language. In Malaysia, the standard Bahasa Malaysia are use all over the country. In Indonesia however, they use Bahasa Indonesia, Sundanese and Javanese depends on the geographical locations. Despite of this differences, all of them regardless of race or country can understand each other very well. 

Moving on to the political system of this 2 countries, they both practice a very different political approach. Malaysia still have their monarchy system in place while practicing democratic parliament. The citizens will elect a political party that they favor and a prime minister will be chosen from the winning party. The monarchy system is in place to assure that some sensitive issues such as religion and race will not interfere with the management of the country. They can also veto any decision made by the parliament. In contrast, Indonesia is practicing the republic system. In this system a president will be elected by the public from a list of competing senators from different governorate. Different part of the country will also lead by governors. They are no longer monarchy system practiced in Indonesia. 

Next, climate plays an important role in the economic and social growth of a country. Malaysia and Indonesia have a similar climate structure. They consists of only 2 prominent season which is the dry season and the rainy season. Cold climate however can be seen in high altitude area such as Cameron Highlands in Malaysia and Bukit Tinggi in Indonesia. Many varieties of plants and vegetables thrives in this kind of climate. This lead to high agricultural income for their economic earnings. Sharing the same kind of crop leads to the same kind of foods which is why Malaysia and Indonesia share the same palette in their choice of cuisines. 

Malaysia and Indonesia, two different countries that are very similar yet different with each other. Varities in languages, political structure, social structures and foods leads to a diverse community in such a small area in this vast world. Moving with the ever fast pace of world development, culture and tradition are teh two things that will never be forgotten and always be treasured in this two unique gems of southeast asia.
